Product overview

T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-3 (Tim-3), also known as HAVCR2, is a member of the TIM family of immune regulatory molecules. It is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 60kD. . Mature human Tim-3 consists of an extracellular domain of 181aa, a transmembrane domain of 21aa, and a cytoplasmic domain of 78aa. Tim-3 is an important member of the T cell immunoglobulin molecule family. It is a key molecule expressed by activated Th1 cells that regulates CD4+CD25+ regulatory T (TR) cells. Th1 cells express full-length membrane Tim3 (flTim3) and soluble Tim3 (sTim3) through selective splicing of mRNA. Tim-3 is mainly expressed in differentiated mature Th1 cells, and after binding to its ligand galectin-9, it can downregulate the Th1 type cellular immune response.
